Around 1927, Abdulla & Company was purchased by a larger competitor, Godfrey Phillips, which kept the company name and brands going. In 1968, Godfrey Phillips UK was purchased by Philip Morris International.

Became a branch of the United Kingdom Tobacco Co, Ltd in 1929 and was taken over by Godfrey Philips in 1931. Over 100 years, Mr. Marcovitch was making cigarettes for smokers. Today, there remains no surer guarantee of quality in a cigarette than the name Marcovitch on it.
